2012 Hawaiian Music Award

     The 2012 Aloha Festivals Floral Parade on the island of ʻOahu was held on Saturday, September 22 under a beautiful blue Hawaiian sky blessed by soft tradewinds. Ten bands were judged on performance of Hawaiian music, marching precision, and appearance. Judges for the event included noted music educators and Hawaiian music specialists Byron Yasui, Jay Junker & Joseph Ruszkowski.  Winning the first place Kamehameha Schools’ Award was Sacred Hearts Academy under director Keith Higaki. The Second place award went to Waipahu High School under director John Cravalho and third place was awarded to Moanalua High School under director Elden Seta.
