“Our Legacy Lives On” Video (PSA Commercial)
To celebrate its 175th birthday, the Royal Hawaiian Band, under the direction of Bandmaster Clarke K. Bright presented a memorable anniversary concert on Tuesday, November 22, 2011 in the Farrington High School Community Auditorium. The theme, "Our Legacy Lives On: Celebrating 175 Years of the Royal Hawaiian Band," E mau aku ana ko kākou hoʻolina, was portrayed in music, visuals, and pageantry.
Guest artists who performed at this historic event included Gary Aipa, Cathy Foy-Mahi, Raiaatea Helm, Misty Kelaʻi, Nina Kealiʻiwahamana, Karen Keawehawaiʻi, the Kamehameha Children’s Chorus, and the Royal Hawaiian Band Glee Club.
Special guests included former Band directors, Aaron Mahi and Michael Nakasone, in addition to the Mayor of Honolulu, and hundreds of supportive fans.
The concert was recorded in hopes of producing a future CD and was the first collaborative effort, which included both the Friends of the Royal Hawaiian Band and the Royal Hawaiian Band Music Society.

The 175th Anniversary Concert CD is Now Available!
This craftfully mastered CD is the newest in the collection from the Royal Hawaiian Band and celebrates the band’s 175th anniversary concert. Such a special occasion deserves the very best and this CD IS the VERY BEST, with guest artists such as Raiatea Helm, Karen Keawehawaiʻi, Misty Kelaʻi, Nina Kealiʻiwahamana, Cathy Foy-Mahi, the Kamehameha Schools Children’s Chorus, and more.
